Treatment of ehrlichiosis

• doxycycline 100 mg bid for 7-14 d

  • no clinical trial to support use (but it works)
  • no trial investigated duration

• Case reports of successful treatment with rifampin (but spontaneous cure also occurs)

• Chloramfenicol failures reported: don’t use
